Tetra String Quartet is an Arizona nonprofit organization that serves the community and empowers the next generation through performing and teaching chamber music. Tetra was formed in 2010, and they are proud to be both educators and performers. They have received awards, and traveled the world performing, but their mission is local in Arizona, sharing music with members of the community who often do not have access to quality classical experiences. Johann Sebastian Bach’s music was profoundly shaped by the Protestant Reformation and Lutheran theology, evident in his dedication to the Lutheran Church, the theological content of his sacred works, and his adoption of Martin Luther’s teachings. Bach even signed many of his compositions with “S.D.G.” (Soli Deo Gloria), meaning “Glory to God Alone,” demonstrating his deeply held religious convictions. On this special Refor-fest weekend, please come and enjoy the sounds of Victory’s Bigelow Opus 17 organ, which was built in the German Baroque style, much like the instruments that inspired Bach. Our Director of Worship and Music, Dr. Kristin Holton Prouty, will be sharing music from Bach as well as some of the composers that influenced him.
